Consumers

Grant an MCP consumer access to a server or a proxy.

A consumer is a person who signs in to an MCP server you published. The consumer identity belongs to the MCP consumer pool, not the RequestRocket app user pool.

RequestRocket app user ── manages the organisation and grants
MCP consumer ── signs in to a published server ── entitlement ── MCP server or proxy

Before you start, create the MCP server or proxy the consumer may use.

Invite the consumer

Open Consumers and invite the person with their email, given name, and family name. RequestRocket creates or links their separate consumer-pool identity and sends an invitation.

Grant one resource

Open the consumer and add an entitlement for exactly one MCP server or one proxy. For example, grant the consumer access to Support tools, while leaving every other server unavailable.

Result

After the consumer accepts the invitation and connects, the entitlement authorises that consumer-pool identity for the selected resource. It does not grant access to the RequestRocket app or to other MCP servers.

Troubleshooting

  • If the email already belongs to this organisation's active consumer, use that consumer instead of inviting it again.
  • If sign-in says the account is not entitled, confirm the entitlement targets this server or its backing proxy and has not expired.
  • Never substitute an app user's id for a consumer id.
